曲阳是雕刻之乡，城南山石质地纯净、坚韧润滑，其多彩的资源给其艺匠施展技艺创造了得天独厚的优越条件。曲阳石雕既不失魏代神秘朦胧的粗犷气魄，又承启唐宋自然丰满庄重优美的造型。当代中国工艺美术大师卢进桥用牙雕、木雕的手法丰富了石雕技艺。

曲阳现有雕刻集团3家，雕刻企业、摊点2600多个，雕刻从业人员10万多人，雕刻年产值50亿多元。根据市场需求，投资5亿元兴建东方雕刻城，被省列为重点工程项目。现在入驻企业达到400多家，投资4000多万元的雕刻广场正在建设中，年底可望竣工。经过多年经营，截止现在，曲阳雕刻业已形成“一城一线三小区”(一城：东方石雕城；一线：曲新公路沿线； 三小区：羊平、文德、党城)的发展格局。现有雕刻集团2家，雕刻企业、摊点1200多个，雕刻艺人数以万计，年产值4亿元。最近，在县城至羊平公路两侧规划了占地1000多亩的“雕刻走廊”，并经省批准立项，现正抓紧建设，可容纳雕刻、板材企业50多家。投资500 多万元的“雕刻艺术宫”已经投入使用。
